More snow high, less low, still very skimpy. On both sides of Rock Crk. Canyon which bisects Beartooth Plateau S side, Hellroaring on N. All this easily evident our 14K run Hellroaring Rd. 2200m to 2680m then back. Real snowpack 20cm or more starting 2500m, in this warmest ever recorded winter. Sad to see this dismal snowpack state here below that, made run relatively easy. Strong chinook winds packed down upper portions at least. Warm mainly dry another 8+ days. #climate #running #dogs #montana
Hellroaring Plateau 3200m + not quite living up to it name today. only one little slide this winter there, pathetic.
turned back here 2680m 30cm or snow snowpack shaded 0C some W wind. why Sundance looks rite at home here in this habitat
we were all tired. sunny sections w snowpack above 2500m softened some, had to be careful. only a couple knee-high post-holes. there was a snowshoe path in middle 👍🏽
3 weeks ago more snowpack on Beartooth Plateau 3100m +. 3334m Beartooth Pass on US-212 up there. not even hints of cornices left today, very dry/windy.
