@KaCi you can try Linux out without messing up your machine by booting it from a USB drive. Find guides on how to do that online.
That would give you a feel for things like the user interface and speed, testing how to do the things you find most important etc. #Linux mint is a good one for starters, as it's #Ubuntu which I use. Both totally free of course so nothing to lose.
If you have enough disk space you can install Linux alongside Windows and boot to either rather than burn your boats.
